The Yam Porridge is the best yam dish I have had anywhere, of any kind. The flavor is both surprising and addictive. This was supposed to be a side dish on my plate, but after the first bite I ate all the rest of it before even trying anything else. I could eat a giant bowl of this by itself without getting bored. Awesome flavor. (Note, it is just a little spicy. Not much, and think it is just the perfect amount to add interest without it becoming about the spiciness. I only mention it because if you are dining with a group, you might contain a few people with inferior taste buds who think it is too spicy. They are wrong).

At first I thought the spinach stew would be too spicy--but I soon got to used to it and gobbled it up, along with the goat. My husband loved the oxtail stew. Delicious flavors, nice people.

Best Jollof in CT!!!
As a Ghanaian I approve this place Jollof rice. Succulent, and pairs great with thier beef suya or oxtail. They also have jerk chicken available.
They also have La casera available, brings back a lot of memories

My wife and I carried out Jerk Chicken, Oxtail, Samosas and Plantains for dinner tonight. The food was AMAZING! Heritage Spice will definitely be part of our standard rotation from now on.

The first thing about this place is the modern vibe it gives. Not your regular African restaurant. From the decorations and the seats arrangements to the lighting and music. The food portions are huge. I had Amala and gbegiri with ewedu. It reminded me of home. Check this spot out if you're in the area

My family and I drove from Hartford because we heard about how good this place is. We found out ourselves that no lies were told. In fact, their Jollof rice is the best i have ever had. it was absolutely worth the drive. cant wait to go back soon with my friends. Their customer service was superb.
